After a couple of emails from people and a comment from Rachel about Maria Sharapova. I feel well informed who she is. She is this woman.

The one who wore a hot tuxedo on the tennis court. Damn, girl!

Last night, Brian and I successfully played tennis at Volunteer Park for an hour. It was fun! There was another duo on the court playing a match as well. They were nice and we asked them questions about being a courteous user of the public courts. We had such a good time that I look forward to playing again this afternoon.

And later tonight, a BQ show at the Rendezvous. Not that anyone will go because they saw this blog but I thought I would throw it out there anyways. ; ) Two ladies I know are in it, Rachel’s pal, Sara from her bq class and of course Rachel. Sounds like fun!

Rachel texted me yesterday saying “I have the sudden urge to play tennis, do you play?” I almost immediately replied saying no and nothing else but then I remembered when I was 10 and my Uncle Robert (whom back then was someone I looked up to a lot as a kid but we have grown apart since) would come home with a fresh pack of Wilson tennis balls. He would let me open the package because he knew I loved to open the aluminum seal. The smell of new tennis balls instantly overwhelmed my senses. I wrote back to Rachel saying “let’s get rackets and play tonight!” She couldn’t get away but it’s cool because Brian went with me to Target. We both got tennis rackets. My racket is pink with the signature of a woman by the name of Maria Sharapova. Her name doesn’t ring a bell but whatever our rackets were less than $20 each. We played around at the school’s basketball court until we lost all our tennis balls to the roof of the gym. Bummer! We have another pack at home but we will wait until we get to a real court this afternoon.
