it's snowing! the weather in seattle has been tumultuous for the past week. snow on saturday, temperatures in the teens, icey roads, and more snow today (about 3-4 inches at our house). our entire building did not have heat from sunday to tuesday. that really sucked. frost on the inside of our windows, it was exhausting. this is the coldest weather i have dealt with but i'm loving it (well as long as the heat is working in the apartment).
i'm so happy the holidays are coming. i can't wait to cozy up, drink good drinks, play dominos, visit north carolina, and relax and knit.
brian's birthday was last night. mister 35. i can't believe it! we had a great dinner at kingfish cafe, then invited a small group of people to the house for holiday birthday treats. i made ambrosia coconut macaroons, dark chocolate pudding pie, eggnog with rum, and mulled wine. the desserts were a hit. the pudding pie was my favorite. i couldn't believe how easy it was to make pudding at home. here is the recipe if you want to give it a try. it was on the cover of bon appetit a few months ago.
well i hope you all have a good holiday. my blogging will probably be intermittent from here on out to the new year. much love!
