The weekend was so great. Friday night, Brian and I, sat on our apartment’s stoop with our neighbors, Kitsy and Janko. We drank there until we had to leave to the airport to pick up Rachel. The evening was warm and the sunset was gorgeous. We took Rachel out to Café Presse for late night eats. It was her birthday so it also seemed appropriate to celebrate with a pichet of delicious rosé and sandwiches.

On Saturday I woke up early and ran errands for our Seward Park all day outside time. The picnic was great. Lisa and Maggie brought over a grill and we all took many dips in the water. For a moment Lake Washington almost felt lukewarm because it was so hot out (91 degrees!). The sweltering heat made for minor heat exhaustion and an uncomfortable night’s sleep but nothing a quick cold shower couldn’t fix.

We woke up early on Sunday in preparation for the Germany v Spain UEFA Championship. Germany lost. Scheisse! Ach aber ich liebe Deustchland! Rachel met us for the game and afterwards we moseyed on down to Madison Beach for prime people watching. To cool off Brian and I headed downtown for dinner and a movie. We watched Indiana Jones. It was pretty darn terrible. Aliens?! Really? Weird. We got home early enough to watch a couple of episodes of Weeds and get to bed for another warm night of sleep.
